Mission Adventure Trips
Our Vision for Missions
- To serve our brothers and sisters in Christ in other parts of the world. "For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve." Matthew 20:28
- To provide material and professional support for camping ministries around the world and to expose people first-hand to God's work through missions.
What We Offer
We have several years experience in the mission field. The primary focus of our mission adventure trips includes building relationships through service projects. Previous trip projects have included installing river erosion deterrents, building construction, building a low ropes course, painting and trail maintenance, photography, videography, and planning and leading program activities. Our trips always include some adventure such as horseback riding, white-water rafting, climbing, camping, backpacking and trekking, and of course, being immersed in the local culture.
Mission Adventure Trips
- If you are curious about other cultures around the world, willing to lend a helping hand to another camp, are at least 16 years old and have a couple weeks to spare, then these trips are for you.
- We accept applications on an open-enrollment basis. Individuals not connected to a specific group are also welcome to apply. See below for specific dates and locations.
Group Mission Adventures
- Similar to our mission adventure trips, but custom-designed with your group in mind. If you lead or attend a youth group or small group of any kind, this trip is a perfect way to enhance group-bonding in a new atmosphere and help develop an attitude focused on the call to world missions. Choose one of our current destinations or we'll help you design a new one.
Service Projects
- Don't have time to take twoweeks away for a mission adventure trip? Than try something a little closer to home. The Learning Center in Gary, Indiana is a perfect place to volunteer a day or weekend of your time. Click below for more details on how to get involved in this ministry.
International Staff Exchanges
- As we continue building relationships at sister camps all over the world, we've found it important to encourage them to visit camps in the U.S. to learn more about the diversity of camping ministry. Help support this ministry by assisting financially, hosting a staff member by providing a meal or lodging, or being a tour guide for the local area. You can be an important link for guests to feel welcome in our community.
- The Covenant Harbor Apprentice Ministry Program (CHAMP) is soon to begin its fifth year. This fifteen-month discipleship and camp ministry program has attracted many participants from other countries, many of whom are new to this country. Help support international participants of CHAMP by inviting them to your church or home, assisting them in community involvement, or supporting them financially through donations to a scholarship fund.

Chile Mission Adventure -- TBA
We are hoping to head back to Chile in January 2009 to help out with their summer camp. Yep, that's right, summer camp in January! Don't worry it summer down there in January. The Chilean camp includes over 100 youth and adults from church communities all over Chile--some travel on a bus for the first time as far away as 19 hours. That gives you an indication of just how cool it is to go to camp. Activities include: helping prepare the grounds for campers, programming games, crafts, logistical support, cooking, cleaning, and shopping for the daily needs of the camp program. We've developed some great friendships in Chile. Be a part of the excitement of their camp ministry! Create some relationships of your own and see how God will work in and through you as you serve Him and others.
Trip Cost: $2000-2200 (includes roundtrip airfare from Chicago, food, lodging and project cost)
Alaska Mission Adventure -- TBA
We've been anxious to head back to Alaska after a few years break. On previous trips we've spent some time at the Covenant camp in Unalakleet, at Alaska Christian College, and at several other Christian camps. Adventure activities unique to Alaska have included ice-climbing, winter camping, kayaking, and salmon fishing. Check with us about our summer Alaska trip and get ready for an adventure of a lifetime!
