Who We Are

The Youth Ministry Team

Sarah Augustson, Rob Scott, and Hannah Foss make up the core of the Youth Ministry Team but interns and summer staff cycle through on a regular basis. We are currently joined by former summer staffer, and current intern, Kiley Helgerson. We invite you to learn a little about us as you are choosing to send your camper to our camp. We are all passionate about Harbor, but mostly how the love of Jesus changes the lives of campers while they're here. We constantly look to God as our guide for our decisions in hiring summer staff as well as in programming summer camp. We ask that you join us in prayer for our next summer of camp here at Covenant Harbor.

Sarah Augustson, Director of Youth Ministry

Sarah has been at Covenant Harbor for 12 years, having started on Summer Staff in 1999. She joined the full time staff as an intern after graduating from Bethel College (St. Paul, MN) in December of 1999. Sarah now oversees the entire department, focusing on long range planning and vision casting. While on summer staff at Harbor, she did the unthinkable and met her future husband, Brad (aka Aug - he makes great chicken). Sarah and Brad have been married for 8 years and have two adorable children, Ben and Ela. Brad grew up at Covenant Harbor as a camper, graduated from North Park University and is currently the Volunteer Coordinator here at camp. He is also passionate about the waterfront and video production. Sarah is passionate about family programs, spending time with summer staff, and seeing true life change as a result of God's work at Covenant Harbor. Having grown up as a camp kid in Minnesota, Sarah loves seeing her own kids interact with campers and staff.

Rob Scott, Youth Ministry Coordinator

Rob Scott loves Covenant Harbor. He has been working at Harbor in some manner every summer for the past 10 years. Whether it’s been on summer staff (where he worked on activities staff and on the waterfront), his two years as the youth ministry intern, or his current position Rob’s been here impacting the lives of campers and fellow staff members. Rob was born and raised in Naperville , IL and is a graduate of Hope College (located in Holland Michigan) where he earned a bachelors degree in business administration. Rob loves to be active and enjoys almost any sport out there but his favorites include football, baseball/softball, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and bowling. His favorite camp game is Braveheart where he prefers to spend his time terrorizing the summer staff. In January of 2009 Rob was married to the most amazing woman in the world. Andrea Scott (formerly Andrea Kaffka) is also a Naperville-ian and a Hope grad, who now works as a nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Together they recently purchased a house and bought a puppy, named Wrigley, to live in it with them. Come March 2012 they'll be welcoming a future summer camper into this world.

Hannah Foss, Children's Ministry Coordinator

Hannah Foss has only been at Covenant Harbor since 2009 but is no stranger to Covenant Camps. Growing up in Kent, WA she went to Cascades Camp every summer. After finishing high school she traveled to Windsor, CO to attend Covenant Bible College (CBC), a one-year discipleship program that unfortunately no longer exists. After finishing CBC Hannah went on to North Park University and earned a Bachelors degree in Business and Economics. At North Park she took every travel opportunity possible and was able to go to Sweden, Austria, Costa Rica, and even Zambia. Hannah loves doing crafty things such as quilting and painting but is also somewhat of a perfectionist. Since moving to Wisconsin she has joined a bowling league (something she never thought she would do). Hannah has a passion for kids and loves working with the Kishwauketoe and Day Camp programs.
